    The Witold Lipski Award was established to commemorate this outstanding scientist's achievements and promote young Polish computer scientists. The initiators of this initiative were Krzysztof Apt, Wiktor Marek, and Mirosław Truszczyński. The award is given to young scientists for their achievements in two categories: theoretical aspects of computer science and computer science applications. The award in each of these categories is PLN 50,000.

    IDEAS NCBR sp. z o.o. is a research and development center specializing in artificial intelligence, whose mission is to support the development of these technologies in Poland by creating a platform that connects academic and business environments.
    Our goal is to build the largest platform in Poland conducive to conducting innovative research and educating a new generation of scientists focused on the practical application of developed algorithms and their subsequent commercialization in industries such as industry, finance, medicine, and other sectors of the economy. IDEAS NCBR is part of the ELLIS network.
    As the organizer of the Witold Lipski Award, we aim to support authors of innovative research papers in the field of theoretical computer science and its practical applications. We aspire to promote the achievements of Polish scientists both domestically and internationally, opening new pathways for the development of computer science.

    Conditions of Participation

    The following individuals may participate in the competition:

    Polish citizens or permanent residents of Poland

    Have not been awarded in any category of previous editions of the Award 

    §3

    Are under the age of 35 

    §3

    Are employees, doctoral candidates, or students in institutions of the Polish higher education and scientific system
